How do I import script file?

Modified on Mon, 18 Dec 2023 at 05:05 PM

On mobile, open the .FDX or .Fountain file where ever it is currently stored, then either export, share or send to Shot Lister.

On MacOS, open the Quick Start Window by selecting File>New Window, then double click on Option 2 "Convert Script" to import your script.

Note: if your FDX has scene summary info it does not import correctly. You can duplicate your script and delete that info it should import fine. Some versions of FDX are proving a bit tricky to import. Just convert your FDX to a Fountain (see info below) and it should import with no issues.

You can go to https://writerduet.com (sign up for a free account) and convert your script to a fountain file. Please note that sometimes the conversion will include a .txt suffix as well as the .fountain. For example: myscript.fountain.txt - just delete the .txt from your file name when you save it so it reads myscript.ftn and it should import fine.
